Upper Calapooia Drive
This road begins in the town of Holley and goes for 25 miles to the western boundary of the Willamette National Forest. It is paved until it reaches a Weyerhaeuser Gate at milepost 8.5. From there, the gravel road is a public right-of-way through Weyerhaeuser land until it reaches the Willamette National Forest at milepost 25. The road is open to the public unless the gate is closed. Check the Linn County Road Report for notices about road closures.
From milepost 8.5 to 25, parking is prohibited along the road and there is no legal access to the river. There is a large parking area just to the west of the Weyerhaeuser Gate. I am unsure who owns this or whether it is legal to park there. There are no signs prohibiting parking.
Parking is available at McClun Wayside about 2 miles east of the town of Holley.
There may be log trucks on this route, particularly during weekdays.Â
